Meet Suzy Bootz
Author and Life Coach
BEY: How did you get to be where you are today?SUZY: Everything I have ever accomplished in my life has been through sheer determination. I have learned to listen to my inner voice and tune out all of the chaos so I can stay focused on what I truly want to accomplish in my life. I truly believe I was put on this earth to inspire others and to help them develop the tools to accomplish any goal in life, and I am happiest when I am helping others.
BEY: Have you ever been fired?
SUZY: Not yet, but since I am my own boss…I hope that never ever happens!
BEY: What are your real passions?
SUZY: I have two very strong passions and they are writing and fashion. I remember one of the first Christmas presents I received from my mom was a Mattel sewing machine and I think it only lasted a week before I broke it. After that, I had to learn to sew by hand, so I learned the art of “couture” with my Barbie clothes and have loved fashion and design ever since. I also love to write, because it allows me the chance to connect with others on a soul level and inspire them in a way that I am most comfortable with. When I write, I feel so alive and connected to something greater than myself.
BEY: If you won the lotto what would you do?
SUZY: What a great question! If I won the lottery, I would invest a percentage of my winnings on promoting my book, “Through the Eyes of Truth.” I believe that if we all remembered to look within ourselves for the answers to our own questions, then more of us would be following our own dreams and less focused on what the world is telling us what we should accomplish. The lottery represents every person’s wish, and if you ask anyone what their greatest wish would be when winning the lottery, it comes down to accomplishing our true destiny.
BEY: What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
SUZY:My ultimate goal is to have a Life Center to teach young girls how to develop their self-esteem and learn to not only how to set life goals, but also to take the necessary steps in accomplishing them.
BEY: What do you like to do in your personal life?
SUZY: After 14 years being with my husband, I have to say that I am the happiest when I am with him and doing things together. Outside of my passion for writing and fashion, my husband and I spend a great deal of time renovating our lake house, and I am a huge interior design nerd. I love to design and sew custom pillows, beddings, and even created the interior faux painting in our houses. I am happiest when I am creating things with my hands.
BEY: Please give us one or two shameless plugs.
SUZY: There is nothing I believe in more than the message in my book, Through the Eyes of Truth, and if there is anything I could share with your readers, it would be to learn to listen to your voice within to discover what your true calling is. My book walks you through my journey into self-discovery and my hope is that as you read the words, they will resonate within you to realize your own steps into your greatest achievement.
BEY: Please give us one plug for someone else or your favorite cause or charity.
SUZY: My mom passed away from breast cancer in 2004 and my hope is that every woman reading this practices monthly self exams, gets her mammograms and becomes educated on breast health. Any charity promoting breast cancer awareness and early detection is worth mentioning, but one of my favorites is the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
BEY: What do you do to help stay your best ever?
SUZY: I remain in an attitude of gratitude. When I wake up in the morning, I literally don’t get out of bed until I have said a prayer of gratitude, and it helps me remain focused on what’s important in my life. If my spirit can stay centered on what my goals and dreams are and be in a continual place of thanks for them, then everything else falls into place throughout my day. I have to set my goals of what I want to accomplish, or else it is too easy to get distracted throughout the day.
BEY: How do you help other people be their best?
SUZY: As a Life Coach, Pageant Coach, and Author, I literally spend my days helping people be their best. It’s what God put me on this earth to accomplish, and I feel the best about myself when I am helping another person. If I can help other people become their best, then I am being my personal best.
BEY: What is your favorite book to recommend to someone else to read:
SUZY: “Through the Eyes of Truth,” as it was written by an author who truly wants nothing more than to have every person live the life of their dreams, and this book will inspire and encourage you to do just that. Outside of this being my favorite book, I was truly inspired by “The Master Key system” by Charles Haanel.
BEY: Tell us a secret ;)
SUZY: The greatest secret I have ever known isn’t actually a secret. Did you know that every answer you have a question to….you actually posses the key to unlocking the answer to? I truly believe that is the greatest secret. If you actually want to know a secret about me….my dream is to be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey someday. I love, love , love her!!!
