Makeup artistry is an intimate experience, this experience has given me a life time of shared experiences from love, life, loss and all things that irrevocably change ones path.

Stephen Dimmick was born and raised in the small air-force town of Ipswich in Queensland, Australia. Stephen’s first beauty muse was his mother who graciously “suffered” many hair and makeup looks at the endlessly creative hands of Stephen. It was very clear from early on that Stephen was going to be a major force in the world of beauty.

When he was 16 and no longer satisfied with small town life, Stephen moved to Brisbane City where he found other like minded creatives and thus his rise to international success began. Living hand to mouth and painting faces (mostly his own) and doing whatever it took to make ends meet.
Stephen was in his element with a makeup brush in one hand and a palette of makeup in the other.

Sydney was the obvious next step for Stephen and although this was a short stop, it proved to be fantastic schooling for what was to come in New York City. Since moving to New York, Stephen has had the fortune of working with some of the most esteemed actresses in film and television and “A” list celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Anna Kendrick and the Kardashian’s. His runway credits include Christian Dior, Valentino, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs to name a few.

Stephen has collaborated with some of the world’s best photographers including Greg Lotus, Miles Aldridge, Chad Pitman and Josh Olins. His work has appeared in the Italian, Japanese and Australian editions of Vogue, as well as Time magazine, Numero, Interview, Flair and V Man.

Stephens’s greatest passion is the empowerment of women. “Nothing fills me with joy more than seeing a woman walk with her head held a little higher because she learnt how to enhance her beauty with just one flick of a brush”
