Do we continue to go after goals, in the middle of a virus outbreak?

So many people are stuck inside right now. There are states that are now starting to shut down gyms, bars and more… Which could continue for a while. So during this virus outbreak, what should we do regarding our goals? For the past 30 years, number one best-selling author, counselor and master Life Coach David Essel has been helping people to set goals, and slay them every day of the year. Below, David talks about going after goals, even when there’s unexpected events that might tell us to pull back our efforts for a while. “So many people in the past have said, it’s not the challenges that come at us in life that is the most important thing to look at, it’s how we react to these challenges. And there couldn’t be a better time to look at this philosophy, then right now when the entire world is engulfed in a virus panic. Businesses are closing… Schools are closing… Athletic events have been shut down… Professional sports teams have ended their season… And what about you? Are you still going after your goals, even in this crazy time we’re living in? Or, are you sort of sliding right now, thinking “as soon as all this ends I’ll get back to living, get back to going after my goals.“ Mistake. Big mistake! While many people are cutting back, taking this time to relax, not work as hard… The winners, the movers and shakers of the world are out hustling like never before. It reminds me of 2008, we had a huge economic crash in this country, I had been counseling and coaching numerous real estate agents back then, and several of them were dying on the vine financially. A bunch of them decided to stop doing the work with me, they didn’t want to break into any more of their savings account, but there was one gentleman who was struggling more than everyone else that decided to do things differently. He asked me one day, “David, my wife is really concerned, you know she doesn’t work and we have two children, she thinks I should go and just get a job at a convenience store until the market turns around. I think you might tell me to do things differently, so let’s set up a plan of success!“ I was thrilled! In a time of uncertainty, just like what we’re going through right now, he decided to double up on his effort and the results were amazing. That year, he ended up making more money than he had made the previous three years combined, because as so many people were taking it easy, he was hitting the road hard. How about you? Instead of putting more time reading about the virus, watching about the virus, talking about the virus… What if we took all that time and put it into your weight loss goals? Recovery goals? Financial goals? Love goals? Career goals? Do you see what I’m saying? There’s a blind woman in New York who teaches dance lessons to other blind people, and as she was going blind she continued to say “why me? Why is this happening to me? This isn’t fair “statement. Life is not fair.“ And for a while, she pitied herself. Felt bad about how life wasn’t fair. And then, she took action. She started to look at “what can I do… Versus what can I not do?“ She is a huge success today, not because all of them are excellent dancers, but because they’re alive, using life as a way to experience joy and achieve goals. I want the same for you. In this virus outbreak, I am still working  as a counselor, master Life Coach, and minister six days a week, sometimes seven days a week. If you need help with any of your goals, we work in a “virus free environment“, which simply means we do our sessions via phone and or Skype, so there’s no chance of contamination, there’s no chance of passing this virus on to anyone else. But, there’s a great chance that over the next couple months if you start working really hard right now, you can be living the life you desire. Start today. That’s it, today.“
