Tami Simon - Sounds True

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

Today, Tami Simon, the founder of Sounds True, was a guest on The Best Ever You Show. We had a beautiful conversation about dogs, family and more. I think you'll find episode 522 a favorite that you will come back and listen to or share with others. I really loved learning more about Tami and also from Tami, as she has a wonderful way of explaining so you learn as you listen in.

If you missed the radio show live, you can listen to us on Podchaser.

We're also on Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.

More About Tami Simon:

At age 22, Tami Simon started Sounds True with a dream, a tape recorder, and a $50,000 inheritance she received upon the death of her father. Though she had no business experience and only a vague idea of what she wanted the company to be, Tami had her guiding principle strongly in place: to “disseminate spiritual wisdom.” In the early days, Tami began by recording conferences and interviews with teachers like Ram Dass and Stephen Levine. She broadcasted portions of these recordings on a radio show that she hosted on Boulder County Public Radio, and then made the cassettes of the entire recordings available for purchase. She also began to connect with the Boulder music scene by offering cassette duplication service to local artists. Tami hosts a popular weekly podcast called Insights at the Edge, where she has interviewed many of today’s leading teachers. Tami lives with her wife, Julie M. Kramer, and their two spoodles, Raspberry and Bula, in Boulder, Colorado.

“When I took my first steps on the spiritual path,” says Tami Simon, “I was looking for answers to life’s greatest mysteries. Over time I learned that the best books and teachers pointed us inward—to our own experience—and that this is where we can find our greatest sense of aliveness and purpose.”

Tami is the author of Being True, The Self-Acceptance Project and The Dharma of Dogs.
