Several authors in The Best Ever You Network took home top honors from The International Book Awards.

The winners and finalists of the 13th Annual International Book Awards were announced on Friday, June 3, 2022. The awards honor mainstream and independent titles from such publishers as: Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Wiley, Hachette Books, McGraw-Hill, Taylor & Francis Group/Routledge, Zondervan, Forge, HCI Press, Hay House, Greenleaf Book Group Press, Skyhorse Publishing, She Writes Press, Ideapress Publishing, and hundreds of national and international Independent Houses.

Over 400 winners and finalists were announced in over 90 categories. Awards were presented for titles published in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of American Book Fest, said this year’s contest yielded thousands of entries from authors and publishers around the world, which were then narrowed down to the final results.

Keen says of the awards, “The 2022 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the world. IBA’s success begins with the enthusiastic participation of authors and publishers and continues with our distinguished panel of industry judges who bring to the table their extensive editorial, PR, marketing, and design expertise.”

Winners in our network include:

Winner: Non-Fiction/Inspirational

The Change Guidebook - How to Align Your Heart, Truths, and Energy to Find Success in All Areas of Your Life by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino

Winner: Business: Management

Turnaround - How to Change Course When Things are Going South by Lisa Gable

Finalist: Children's Picture Book: Hardcover Fiction

A Lesson for Every Child - Learning About Food Allergies by Sally Huss with Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino

"This is a huge honor for The Change Guidebook and for everyone involved in helping this book succeed. From the publisher, to the contributors, to the readers and more, I'm extremely grateful to all. I'd especially like to thank my family, everyone at HCI Books and my agent, Steve Harris, for helping and believing in me and The Change Guidebook and for making such a beautiful book to help people all around the world navigate change, " said author Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino.

Guarino says she was reading the full list of winners and finalists when she saw her friend and fellow authors Lisa Gable and Sally Huss listed as winners or finalists also. She says she sent Lisa and Sally emails to make sure they were aware they had won also.

Gable said, "I woke up this morning to discover my book, Turnaround, won the INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARD 2022 for Business Management and Leadership. A book neither gets published or written by itself nor does a turnaround happen through the actions of one person. As a result, I want to make sure and acknowledge those who supported me as this award is the result of a lot of family support. "

Authors Guarino and Gable say they have gotten to know each other as authors and friends as a result conversations and with their books having made it onto various bestseller lists and winning a variety of awards.

Gable said, "Through this process, it has been a joy to get to know Elizabeth Our books have two things in common. We integrate principles around the human aspects of leadership (empathy, seeing the world from someone's else's POV, listening) and we are female business writers (which is rare). We have enjoyed each other's successes and kept each other informed when we see the other person's book show up on a list. As I continue to say, life is a collaboration not a competition. My relationship with these other authors show that we all win as we continue to lift each other up the ladder."

Sally Huss and Elizabeth Guarino are also very proud to see their food allergy book, A Lesson for Every Child - Learning About Food Allergies listed as a finalist in the awards. Huss said, "I am very honored that Elizabeth's and my book (A LESSON FOR EVERY CHILD: Learning About Food Allergies) has been chosen as a finalist in the 2022 International Book Awards. Of all the books I have created, this book has far-reaching positive implications for children now and in the future. It is a book to educate all children on this topic and not just those who have this condition. Many thanks for this honor."
