Best You Daily Inspiration and Journal Prompt - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Good Morning from Maine! #Gratitude to all!

Today's Best You Daily Inspiration and Journal Prompt is about pictures.

Best You Daily will help guide you and your lifestyle to be the very best they can be. Following a few of my thoughts you'll find a journal prompt closer to the end of this blog. I hope you'll follow with me, as each day, I intend to give us all something to think about and/or write about through Best You Daily. We’re here to talk about your best life in 2017 and beyond. We’re here to learn to make some lasting changes in our lives.

So, I keep finding myself looking at old pictures.

Like this one:

I really honestly am just stunned that one of our boys got a job and an apartment, two are in college and one is a Sophomore in high school. I'm not stunned at their accomplishments, but rather, I'm stunned at where the time went. I am almost, but not quite at a loss for words! This house is pretty quiet and definitely changed.

This new life at home, has us with way more time, space in the house, food uneaten, not so much laundry to do, mopey pets, cars not moving in the driveway and just a bunch of CHANGE! Quaid has discovered our spare time and is filling it up with driving time for his license, and all sorts of clever things. The neatest thing to me is our gym time. We often go to the gym together after school, which is something he did with Cam and Quinn before. Even the dog has discovered our free time and a new way to carry her leash around, so she knows too.

So Peter and I quickly recognizing we needed to regroup as we have in the past, had a really long chat about this new us and what how we would maneuver with the changes gracefully and our best.

We have such fun on our "marriage maintenance" meetings. We went out for dinner and sat for like 2 hours just chatting about all the changes. Our chat was all over the place and a total blast! One thing we both agreed we had way more time for was exercise and way healthier eating. We also agreed we both love to do little day trips and get out and about. We also both agreed that we are going to go through one room at a time in the house and donate things, fix it up, clean and so forth. Through our goofy little fun conversation, which was really about what to do for our 19th anniversary, we both agreed we'd gotten older and grayer, but we've gotten smarter and way more fun! As we said on the phone last night to Cam, "We miss you, but please don't miss us!" (Meaning thrive and succeed and have a blast!)

That was Saturday night.

On Sunday morning it was super foggy out. He said, "We should get your camera, get our tea and drive around and take pictures." .... and so we did..... 72 pictures to be exact. If each one is worth a thousand words, I'm going to be here a while, LOL.
