Life With the Zoom Lens On - Let's Focus on the Beauty Around Us

Welcome to my new blog, Life with the Zoom Lens On. Thank you for being here with me. We're still percolating and letting our best self filter through and being our best ever you, of course, but let's take it another step. My goal with this new blog is to help us make one thing, thought, idea, value, belief, etc…. the focus point.

What's your focus for today?

Let's focus on the beauty around us.

I love this time of year. It seems to be the time when I take the most pictures. I check daily to see the Bleeding Hearts bloom...

We'll go to our spot to hear the Red-Winged Blackbirds...

It's that time of year where, just a few weeks ago, it was snowing (lightly) here in Maine. Still... snow is snow. The snow has hopefully decided to actually stop and things are in bloom. Usually, we are out and about playing travelling and watching college baseball or visiting our sons at college. This year we are all together here at home.

This year we're not venturing far. We're all doing our best to completely make the most of the situation. I can hear their moments of worry. We're trying to do our best to keep the future in check as things seem to be changing daily. Do I think college will resume in fall? I have no answer for that. It's so complicated and definitely has changed. Things are different. I know there will be many more adjustments we all make.

I'm finding peace in things I've always loved like family-life, photography, books, birds, gardening, cats and all things healthier you, such as exercise and eating well.

Such a beautiful time of year to garden. That's mostly where we are. Outside in the yard. We check on our Hosta collection daily. Everything is starting to live.

You'll hear my husband complain about the Chipmunks in bloom. They watch him and chirp. I think they are cute and they love strawberries. They seem to be watching my husband plant their next meal.

They could be dodging the owl in lives in the woods between our house and the neighbors house.

There is so much beauty around us.

JOURNAL EXERCISE

Again, today we ask: How are you? Are you pushing through? Are you living in fear or anxiety? Are you stressed? Are you happy? Sad? How are you?

In your journal, here are some concepts to write about or spark a conversation with another person.

Where do you find beauty around you?
