Good Morning from Maine! #Gratitude to all!
Today's Best You Daily Inspiration and Journal Prompt is about Acceptance.
Best You Daily will help guide you and your lifestyle to be the very best they can be. Following a few of my thoughts you'll find a journal prompt closer to the end of this blog. I hope you'll follow with me, as each day, I intend to give us all something to think about and/or write about through Best You Daily. We’re here to talk about your best life in 2017 and beyond. We’re here to learn to make some lasting changes in our lives.
When we practice Percolating Acceptance, we make a choice how we view what we can and can’t change. Self-acceptance starts to increase awareness on all levels and, in my opinion, fosters gratitude and love.
I was thinking about acceptance yesterday and how I apply the concept to my own life. In some things I do a really great job and my honest assessment of myself is that I fall short or even down in other areas. I think that is a pretty common thing to have happen in our lives, since the last time I checked, no one is perfect!
In developing this journal and writing prompt practice for us all, I look at the questions below and immediately go to the long journey I've had with self-acceptance. I spent many years thinking everyone had it a lot better than I did. I developed a pretty deep sense of gratitude and acceptance over the years, but every so often the self-chatter creeps up. For me, lately, it's mostly been about toning up and getting in better shape. I use the fall as sort of a cleaning and clearing process to regroup, make adjustments to work and life and set the tone for 2018. I do this around my birthday each year and I find the shifts and changes set better than if I do this with a new year in January.
