The Mystic Cookbook came into my life a few years ago now and it changed my life. As many of you may or may not know, I have Anaphylaxis. I live my daily life with allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish. In 1998, I nearly lost my life due to an allergic reaction to almonds. In 1999, I had a second near-fatal allergic reaction while pregnant with our third son, after which I was hospitalized for more than a week.
The book helped change my relationship with food and eating. - Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino

About Meadow Linn:
Meadow Linn lives in California with her dog, cats, and chickens. Her favorite mornings start with a steaming cup of tea and fruit plucked from her garden or poached eggs from her hens. While cooking professionally, she noticed the powerful connection between not just what we eat, but also how we eat and how we feel. Having watched countless people transform their lives simply by making mealtimes fun and delicious, she decided to devote herself to finding ways to savor life more fully. She believes living well and eating well should be tasty and fun. By enjoying the little moments in our lives as well as the foods we eat, our lives will be more enriched and as a result, we'll be healthier, happier, and more balanced. Meadow has a masters degree in French Cultural Studies from Columbia University and writes a lifestyle column in a Seattle newspaper.

To the east is the Corizo Plain which is awash with brilliant wildflowers in the spring. On their land, they have a small orchard with 15 different kinds of fruit, 100 grapevines for home-made wine and grape juice, olive trees for olives, and a large organic garden.
