With so many demands on today’s entrepreneurs, compromise and balance have become the name of the game. If you give a little here, take a little there, tweak a little over there, surely your life will begin to work out in wonderful ways.
Except -- is that working for you? When we compromise, we literally give up parts of ourselves to do what we think we need to do to make things work. What if there was a completely different possibility that didn’t involve compromise? What if you could truly have it all?
Compromise is about taking things away. It comes from the point of view that you are limited, and that you must give up in one area in order to have more in another area. Most busy and successful entrepreneurs have achieved the success they have from their capacity to add to their life, not take things away. If this is the case for you, perhaps you could flip the idea that compromise is a necessity on its head and have a different life? What if adding to your life could create way more for you than the subtraction that compromise requires?
Nobody likes to compromise – and it’s not fun! For example, when you think of compromising your income, so you can have time with your children, how does that feel to you? Are you inspired by that prospect, or do you know (or desperately wish!) that there is a different possibility?
Here are three tools that you can use to go from compromise and subtraction to addition, having it all, and creating a business, family, and life that flourishes in ways you may have always dreamt were possible:
1. Never give up on you.
If you would like to have something in your life, chances are you have some awareness of a possibility that perhaps other people don’t have. Your desire is like a super power. It is an indication of a possibility, not something that is wrong or impossible. When you compromise something that you desire, your life becomes smaller. When you begin to wonder about how you could use your superpowers to create something greater for you, you will become inspired, more creative, more efficient, and faster with everything that you do.
2. Ask too many questions!
A question is an invitation for new information, new awareness, and new possibilities. If you decide that something is not possible, you are correct! If you wonder about how something could be created – that is the information and awareness that will begin to permeate your world. Questions and curiosity are the key to any successful business and life.
Some great questions to ask are:
• What else is possible here that I have never considered? • What would it take for me to create this? • What would it take for me to have everything I desire with ease?
3. Hire out!
When you are a busy, creative person, chances are you need a little assistance! Or, perhaps a lot! When you add new possibilities, and new things to your life, you can also add new people that can assist you in creating what it is you would like to have. If you have the point of view that you cannot afford to hire somebody, look at what it would create for your income if you could direct your attention even more to your creative endeavors by having somebody do what you don’t have to do. What if your life was about you doing what is fun for you, inspiring for you, and what lights you up every area? This can be true for parenting, business, running your household -- everything!
When you are willing to move quickly, to change, to choose things that others are not willing to choose, to live from possibility, and to know that what you desire is something that you truly can have, everything becomes possible in your life! When everything is possible, there is no need to figure out how it is all going to work out, or what you need to give up having more. Compromise diminishes you and your creative juices, and is something that will never move you in the direction of the greater life, business, and world that you may be asking for.
What possibilities are you aware of for your life that you could start to put into place today? What if you having fun in every area of your life could be a great gift to the world, and everybody around you?
