Midlife is a season of profound change, yet traditional healthcare has often treated it as a collection of isolated symptoms rather than a whole-person experience. Enter JumpstartMD, a company that’s redefining midlife health with a revolutionary, integrated model that goes beyond prescriptions to address the root causes of change. From hormone therapy and nutrition to weight management and lifestyle coaching, JumpstartMD combines science, compassion, and personalization to help people thrive through every stage of life. In this interview, we sit down with JumpstartMD’s CEO to explore how the organization is rewriting the narrative around midlife health, particularly for women, and creating a new standard of care.
JumpstartMD has been described as taking a revolutionary approach to midlife health, especially around hormone-related changes. For readers unfamiliar with your work, can you explain what makes JumpstartMD’s model different from traditional healthcare?
Traditional healthcare often treats midlife changes as isolated symptoms, offering short-term solutions and fixes rather than addressing root causes. At JumpstartMD, we approach health as a continuum. Our providers combine medical supervision, hormone therapy, nutrition, weight management, and lifestyle coaching under one coordinated model. This integrated framework allows us to personalize care in a way that is both science-based and deeply human. We’re not just prescribing a therapy; we’re partnering with our members to help them feel and function at their best through every stage of midlife and beyond.
The healthcare system has often underserved women, particularly during perimenopause and menopause. How is JumpstartMD rewriting that narrative and filling those gaps in care?
Thank you for this extremely important question. For decades, women’s midlife health has been minimized or misunderstood. Too often, women have been told to “just get through it” when experiencing symptoms that profoundly impact quality of life. At JumpstartMD, we take a different stance: these symptoms are real, they matter, and they deserve treatment. Our clinicians provide thorough hormone evaluations, safe and individualized therapy, and evidence-based strategies for restoring well-being. We also give women the time, education, and support they need, which has historically been lacking in traditional medical encounters. The simple fact is that women have been misdiagnosed, mistreated, and underserved for too long in our healthcare system and we are proud to be a part of the solution to this big problem.

You’ve recently expanded to 14 locations across California, with your newest in Irvine. What does this growth mean for the company, and as its CEO where do you see JumpstartMD expanding next?
Our expansion reflects both the growing demand for better care and the trust patients place in our model. Each new location allows us to serve more communities while staying true to our patient-first philosophy. Looking ahead, our focus is on deepening our presence across California and exploring opportunities in neighboring states, both through new clinics as well as virtual services. But growth for us is not just about geography; it’s also about continuing to innovate, to offer more convenient solutions for our members. Our new AI Health Coach, Rumi, is our latest innovation that helps our members 24/7 and in any language.
Many people think of hormones only in terms of physical health, but JumpstartMD has spotlighted their critical role in mental and emotional well-being. Can you share how your clinicians connect these dots for patients?
Hormones influence far more than physical changes. Declines in estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone can manifest as mood swings, anxiety, brain fog, or diminished energy. Our clinicians make those connections explicit. We help our members understand that what they’re experiencing is not a character flaw or a lack of willpower…it’s simply biology. With proper treatment and support, our members describe improvements not just in sleep or weight, but in their relationships, confidence, and overall outlook on life.
JumpstartMD offers more than hormone therapy, it’s a comprehensive health optimization model including weight loss, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching, so why is this holistic approach essential to the long-term success of your patients?
As much as hormone therapy can be essential in midlife it is not always enough. True health outcomes could require a combination of medical, nutritional, and behavioral support. At JumpstartMD, we track not only weight but also body composition, ensuring patients preserve muscle mass while reducing fat. Our coaches work on habits, motivation, and accountability. This integrated model creates sustainable change and helps prevent the cycle of quick fixes that leave patients frustrated. In short, it’s the combination of therapies, nutrition, and coaching that produces lasting results.
As CEO, you’ve been vocal about challenging systemic gaps in healthcare. What drives you personally to take on this mission?
What drives me is simple: I’ve seen too many people, especially women, struggle in silence with conditions that are preventable or treatable. I believe healthcare should empower people, not leave them feeling dismissed or overlooked. Having watched family, friends, and patients navigate these gaps, I felt compelled to lead an organization that does better. At JumpstartMD, we aim to change the standard by proving that personalized, compassionate, evidence-based care is not only possible, but it should be the norm.
Growing a healthcare company while staying true to a patient-first mission is no small feat. How do you balance business growth with maintaining quality, personalized care?
Growth and quality are interdependent. We expand thoughtfully, ensuring every new location is staffed by clinicians and health coaches trained in our standards of care. We invest in technology that enhances our member experience, but we never replace the human connection at the core of what we do. By embedding patient-first values into every layer of our organization, we ensure that scale never comes at the expense of quality.
What have been some of the biggest leadership lessons you’ve learned while building JumpstartMD, particularly in the complex world of healthcare?
One of the most important lessons I learned is that healthcare consumers need clear, evidence-based education. We live in a time where misinformation and disinformation spread quickly, especially on topics such as menopause care and hormone replacement therapy. Patients are often left confused or even fearful, when in reality safe, effective options are available. Another lesson has been the necessity of drawing distinctions between responsible, ethical medical practice and organizations that prescribe medications carelessly or without proper oversight. Building JumpstartMD has reinforced for me that leadership in healthcare is not only about innovation or growth, it is also about being a trustworthy voice, guiding patients with clarity and integrity in a crowded and sometimes misleading marketplace.
Midlife is often when people re-evaluate not only their health but also their careers and leadership styles. How has leading JumpstartMD shaped your own perspective on resilience and growth?
JumpstartMD has been a great reminder that I need to pay close attention to my own health as I’m entering midlife. Also, leading a team of compassionate healthcare providers has made me a better person, more grounded, and more aware of how important it is to provide true care to people.
The constantly changing healthcare industry has taught me to be more adaptable to change and to embrace collaboration with my team. Resilience is not just about pushing forward, but about adjusting with agility and leaning on the strength of those around you.
Finally, for aspiring leaders, whether in healthcare or another industry, what advice would you share about building a purpose-driven organization that creates lasting impact?
Always start with the mission and the product that can truly serve that mission. Ask yourself: is this product or service genuinely better than what already exists? If the answer is yes, then the next step is finding the right people who believe in that mission and can deliver it with integrity. Only after you have the right product and the right people should you focus on scaling.
My advice is to begin with as much clarity as possible. It is okay if you pivot later on. But it’s with that initial clarity that you can hire individuals whose values and resumes align with the mission. Be prepared to make difficult choices and it’s very natural if you have to change your product along the way. And that lasting impact is not defined by occasional moments of success, but by the quality consistency of your product. Never forget: Your customers will always tell you if you’re doing something right or wrong. Listen to them!
