Life with the Zoom Lens on - Let's Focus on Self-Discipline

Welcome to my new blog, Life with the Zoom Lens On. Thank you for being here with me. We're still percolating and letting our best self filter through and being our best ever you, of course, but let's take it another step.My goal with this new blog is to help us make one thing, thought, idea, value, belief, etc…. the focus point.

What's your focus for today?

Let's focus on self-disciplne.

Had I taken a video of this moment instead of a photograph, you would be noticing the incredible wind. Instead the picture is still, which is sometimes exactly how you need to be in a windstorm. Safe and still.

The same holds true for life and the concept of self-discipline. Self-discipline is rooted in self-love, self-worth with roots that spread to a multitude of other concepts such as gratitude, responsibility, acceptance and so many other ways you can be, as discussed previously here.

Self-discipline can be very tricky, as sometimes when the wind is blowing a certain direction, it is up to you to not get caught up in it.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Grab a cup of your favorite coffee or tea, put your feet up or take a walk, and let your heart’s desire surface as we talk about all we can be. Let's brew positive energy.

JOURNAL EXERCISE

Again, today we ask: How are you? Are you pushing through? Are you living in fear or anxiety? Are you stressed? Are you happy? Sad? How are you?

In your journal, here are some concepts to write about or even discuss with another person.

-How am I behaving?

-Is my self-discipline practice in line with my values, goals, beliefs and how I want to operate as a person to be my best and live my very best life in the moments I have now and ahead of me?

-Am I in with a bad crowd of people? Have I surrounded myself with the best people in line with my true values, goals, beliefs and desired behaviors?

-Am I taking responsibility for everything about myself? Am I band-aiding or letting deep wounds fester or numbing them with substances or behaviors rather than addressing them?

-What's my tolerance for risk? How much risk am I engaging in and why?

-Am I wishing for it or working for it? What is my routine of action and self-discipline?

-Am I sabotaging yourself?

Also, We have a new mindset and conversations group on Facebook and would like to invite you to join us: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ConversationsWithElizabethAndKris
