5 Tips for a Great Summer (+ A Sweet Summer Recipe!)

Summer is a beautiful invitation to slow down, savor the sunshine, and create moments that become lifelong memories. Whether you're planning a beach day, a backyard BBQ, or simply want to make the most of the season, these five tips will help you create a summer that feels like your best ever.

☀️ 1. Start Each Day With Intention

Instead of rushing into your to-do list, begin your summer mornings with a moment of mindfulness. Sit outside with your favorite drink, take a deep breath, and ask: What kind of day do I want to create? That small pause can shape everything that follows.

🌊 2. Get Outside—Even for 10 Minutes

You don’t need to plan a full vacation to enjoy the season. A walk in the morning, reading under a tree, or eating lunch on your porch can do wonders for your mental and physical well-being. Nature resets your nervous system and reconnects you to the moment.

🌸 3. Create a "Summer Bucket List"

This doesn’t have to be long or fancy—just write down a few things that light you up. Think: stargazing, strawberry picking, trying paddleboarding, or having a screen-free picnic. Give yourself permission to play!

💛 4. Practice the “Gratitude Flip”

If your summer doesn’t go exactly as planned, flip your perspective: Instead of “I have to do this,” try “I get to do this.” It’s a gentle mindset shift that transforms obligations into opportunities—and brings peace into the moment.

🍓 5. Make Something Delicious & Share It!

What’s summer without a sweet treat? Here’s a favorite of mine that’s nut-free, easy to make, and full of sunshine.

  2. In another bowl, mix yogurt, maple syrup, and strawberries.

  3. Pour over crust and spread evenly.

  4. Freeze for 3–4 hours until firm.

  5. Slice into bars, drizzle with white chocolate (optional), and enjoy!

✨ Your Best Summer Starts With You

You don’t have to overdo it. Just stay present, sprinkle in joy, and allow this season to be about connection—to yourself, to others, and to what matters most. That’s how you create your best-ever summer—one peaceful, sweet moment at a time.

With sunshine and love,

Elizabeth
