Stressed and Overwhelmed? Here’s How to Find Peace Right Now (Scripps News)

There are moments when life feels like a lot.

The pace of the world, the constant stream of information, the weight of responsibilities—it can all feel overwhelming. And in times like these, people are not just looking for answers. They are looking for ways to feel grounded, calm, and more in control of their lives.

We were honored to join Scripps News to talk about something that matters deeply to us: how to find peace in uncertain times.

In this conversation, we shared simple, practical tools that anyone can use to manage stress and return to a place of clarity. Because peace is not something we wait for when life settles down. It is something we practice, even in the middle of everything.

One of the most important reminders we offered is this: when life feels overwhelming, it is often not because there is too much to do, but because we are trying to hold it all at once. Bringing your focus back to what matters most—just one or two things at a time—can create an immediate shift.

We also talked about the importance of responding instead of reacting. When emotions are high, even a brief pause can change the outcome of a moment. That pause creates space for better decisions, clearer thinking, and a greater sense of control.

And perhaps most importantly, we reminded viewers that peace is a practice. It is built through small, intentional choices we make throughout the day. It is not about perfection or having everything figured out. It is about returning, again and again, to what matters.

These conversations are more important than ever. People are navigating stress, uncertainty, and constant change, and they need tools that are simple, practical, and real.

We are grateful to Scripps News for creating space for this message and for the opportunity to share from our work in The Peace Guidebook: How to Cultivate Hope, Healing, and Harmony for the Good of Humankind.

As always, we hope this reminds you that even in challenging times, you have the ability to create moments of peace in your life.

It doesn’t require a complete reset. It starts with a single moment.

Pause. Breathe. Choose.

With gratitude,

Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino & Dr. Katie Eastman
